There is one persistent fake credit reseller who uses a number of techniques to get IMVU users to buy credits from him. This reseller has been spamming IMVU in many ways for a long time, and many users have lost money and never received credits.

Always be suspicious of very low prices and always check the authorized resellers list.

The IMVU reseller group scam consists of sending invite messages to users randomly. New users in particular are prone to join, being excited to get some action and being "wanted".

When joining the group they see professional ads, they see lots of other members have joined. Not knowing the workings of IMVU, they succumb and buy credits. After a while they do not receive the credits and go back to the group and post messages, and they see that other users have also posted messages asking where their credits are - but the credits never come.

What to do

First - do not report the message that asks you to join the group - that message comes from IMVU and you only end up blocking IMVU message and you do NOT want to do this

Go to the group, press the Report abuse button and report the group - then delete it from the list of groups listed for you to join
